ABOUT THE GEORGE THORBY BIG BAND

George Thorby has run his Big Band with energy and enthusiasm since 1952. George has seen it all, he’s probably been there and he’s definitely done it! George’s enthusiasm and the Band’s professionalism ensures excellent entertainment at every performance. Alan Norris is a real Big Band enthusiast and this enthusiasm rubs off on all the band members. Based in March, Cambridgeshire, the band plays a good variety of music suitable for concerts, dances and private functions within the East Midlands and East Anglia.

ABOUT THE JIMMY GRAHAM BAND

The Jimmy Graham Band was set up over 20 years ago in Northamptonshire and is run by Jimmy Williams.

In November 2008 the Band performed at the BBC Radio Northampton ‘Dancers in Need’ competition held at Wicksteed Park, Kettering in aid of Children in Need. Strict tempo for 90 seconds – the Jimmy Graham Little Big Band can do it all!

The Band offers music to suit young and old for every occasion. From Glenn Miller to Gloria Gaynor and beyond!

ABOUT RAY MOORE

Ray Moore’s musical career began as a musician in the army. He attended both the Royal Military School of Music (Kneller Hall) and the Guildhall School of Music, London.
In 1963 and after a short spell in ‘civvy street’ Ray joined the Band of the Welsh Guards as pianist and saxophonist. After leaving the army, he was musical director for a London-based cabaret team and toured extensively with them. He then worked as a professional musician backing many well-known artists in the north of England. He now runs his own school of music in Northampton where he teaches piano and keyboards. Ray is also a composer, arranger and publisher.
